Join our dynamic team of Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists at Jill Tullman & Associates (JTA). JTA is a family-focused Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology private practice that helps toddlers, children and teens have richer lives.  We are looking for Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) who want to expand their experience, professional growth, and specialty areas in pediatrics.

Our Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) focus on developmental milestones and skills, fine motor, visual-perceptual-motor, processing of sensory information, and activities of daily living. Occupational Therapists and COTAs at JTA are part of a dynamic team of professionals who work with children, birth-21.

About the role

This is an ideal position for a person who takes initiative, is a self-starter, and wants to be part of a well-established practice.

In addition to providing more traditional based occupational therapy interventions, for those with experience and/or interest, mentoring can be provided in assistive technology, specifically wheelchair seating and mobility, power mobility training, alternative positioning, and alternative access for individuals with physical disabilities.

Job Description:

The Occupational Therapists are responsible for providing occupational therapy evaluations and interventions to toddlers, children, and teens who have many developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) are responsible for following treatment plans developed by Occupational Therapists.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and interventions, screening and assessments of occupational performance and skill.
  • Plan, organize and deliver occupational therapy based on needs of individual clients and their families.
  • Develop treatment plans for clients’ occupational performance goals and progress monitor.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice in delivering care.
  • Document assessment, treatment goals, and progress notes and maintain client files according to practice standards in a timely manner.
  • Update clients’ progress by completing Comprehensive Assessments every 90 days.
  • Provide family education, training and coaching.
  • Provide strategies and support to clients families and intervention team as appropriate.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other disciplines in the practice and with other professionals who work with clients and families. (maybe be more specific? Collaborate with slp’s to…be specific as it relates to AAC?)

Qualifications:

  • Certification in Occupational Therapy by NBCOT.
  • Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy (2006 or earlier), Entry Level Masters or Masters of Occupational Therapy (2007 or later), or Doctor of Occupational Therapy. 
  • For COTA: An Associates degree in OTA, one year of full time OTA work experience, current OTA license in Colorado and certification by NBCOT.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Colorado.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and families and collaborate with other professionals.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and excellence in organizational skills.
  • A passion and commitment for working with toddlers, children and teens, many who have developmental and/or intellectual skills, and their families.
  • Have a positive and patient demeanor.
